Hi Cyril,

We can do custom development on any version you prefer. For commercial clients currently we typically we do development for them on the latest version of Mango M2M which then becomes the next version. For work with ScadaBR I would recommend talking with them directly.

If this work needs to start very soon and you want it in the open source version and do not want to purchase a commercial license then we would work with Mango version 12.4 which is publicly owned.

Going forward our preference would be to do development with Mango Automation which will be the replacement of M2M2 and the plan is to eventually make this the replacement of Mango M2M as well. Mango Automation is build in a modular way which makes the development process much easier and give much more flexibility to customize for client specific applications. There is documentation and the idea is to encourage others to develop modules that can be offered and sold through the Mango Automation store. Modules for Mango Automation are both Open Source and some are or can be closed source so it give all the options. Currently the core of MA is closed source but we are considering also making the core open source so that it can become the real replacement of Mango M2M. The open source license for Mango Automation will be different than Mango M2M and a commercial license will be required for commercial applications but the license will be a lot less than Mango M2M.

The evolution of the Mango software products is really based on what our customers want and are willing to contribute financially toward. If your company wants to sponsor an open source project that has a lot of potential going forward then I think we should talk more about Mango Automation as that option and help us release this product to the public.

I can’t really comment of how ScadaBR would work for you, you would need to talk with them.

Sincerely,
Joel.
